Toca Chosen to Sponsor
International Youth Orchestra in Beijing

Bejiing Youth Orchestra Play Toca Synergy DjembeToca Percussion, with great pride and gratitude, accepts the invitation to sponsor the 2008 Beijing Olympic Orchestra. The Toca logo, the only percussion company so-honored, now appears on the official website of the Beijing Orchestra. Traffic on the site has been increasing incrementally as the days draw closer to the Olympic ceremonies. The Toca logo will increasingly link those visitors to the Toca home page.

The move brings extraordinary visibility to Toca Percussion and speaks to the credibility of Toca instruments and quality. The partnership is seen as particularly appropriate. The Toca mandate, implicit in the mission statement just play, includes drawing youth to music through percussion instruments. The primal force of percussion, including its value in uniting diverse participants in harmony, sits well with the Olympic theme: one world, one dream.

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Orchestra is composed of youth chosen from over forty countries. They will combine in grand performances for the Olympic ceremonies and will, in addition, split up into various "hub orchestras" to play distinct themes and genres. Given the monumental scale of the 2008 Olympics, performances will not be casual gatherings. In fact, a minimal audience count of over 5,000 is expected. Again, this places Toca in the enviable position of a two-week run of exposure to international and local press/print media, video, television and film.

Already Toca has sent a number of djembes and other percussion instruments to the Orchestra's Olympic residences in Grand Epoch City, Beijing. Toca is poised to assume a more prominent role as the Olympics draw closer.

Toca Percussion is grateful to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Orchestra for this pride of place, and Toca pledges to honor the Olympic spirit by bringing youth together as a resonant community united by the most primal force of all!
