Michael Wimberly: Basic Technique for Playing Djembe
Michael Wimberly is
a drummer, percussionist, and composer. Michael holds a masters degree
from the Manhattan School of Music and is a faculty member of the Drummer's
Collective in NYC. Wimberly's recording and performance credits include
such notable artists as George Clinton, Steve Coleman, Mama Tongue, Charles
Gayle and many more.
In this lesson, Michael demonstrates basic djembe playing techniques
and various rhythmic patterns derived from West Africa.
