Peter Michael Escovedo
Born
July 7, 1961 in California, Peter Michael Escovedo emerges from Latin
music royalty. His father is Pete Escovedo,
his uncle Coke Escovedo, his sister is Sheila
E. and brother is Juan Escovedo.
A percussionist with an extensive discography and performance credits,
Peter Michael follows in the family tradition-including his signing an
exclusive artist deal with Toca. And like his siblings, he has embraced
diversity in music and has toured with household names, including Mariah
Carey, Sheila E., George Michael, Stevie
Nicks, Huey Lewis, Tina Turner, and Marvin Gaye. He has laid tracks in
the studio with many of the above; in addition, he's recorded with Barbara
Steisand, Kenny Loggins, Kenny G, Santana, Patti Labelle, Eric Burden,
Ray Obiedo, James Ingram, and The Harlem Gospel Choir.
Peter Michael Escovedo has enjoyed successful tenures as an actor in
television-for example The Wayne Brady Show-and in film, as in The Adventures
of Ford Fairlane. In fact, for both of these projects, Peter Michael
has done some acting and has composed soundtracks, band tracks and incidental
music. That's also him acting on the Playboy 50th Anniversary Celebration. Often
playing himself/a bandleader, Peter Michael heightens the visibility
of the Escovedo name and also makes the Toca name prominent.
A producer of various artists on disk and in video, Peter Michael is also
a recording artist in his own right. His solo CD is entitled Moments and
features a blend of Latin and pop styles.
