Tony Ayala, The Carlos Adames Group, Educator

Born with a passion for percussion and Latin music, Tony Ayala started his professional carrier at an early age, as the conguero for Rafy Castro y Su Orquesta in the 80'ís—which evolved into the award winning Salsa Syndicate. Thereafter he joined Claudio y la Orquesta making his directorial debut with Salsa Power.

In the 90'ís, Tony got involved in a new genre of music…Pop Rock with award winners Sister Moon whom he made a music video with, recorded and toured. Also during this time, he had the privilege of working with local and international sensations- LaChazz Jazz Ensemble, Milwaukee Symphony Orq., The Love Monkeys, Punto de Vista and Bahia.

He has shared the stage with internationally known artists such as Eddie Santiago, Anthony Cruz, Papo Rivera, Hector "Pichie" Perez, Michael Stuart, Frankie Ruiz Jr., Tony Vega, Jose Alberto "El Canario", Edwin Cepeda, Edwin Sanchez and Kid Rock'ís drummer Stephanie Wildenburg. His repertoire includes recordings with Carlos Adames, Del Bennet, the Bystanders, Alaria Taylor, Barbara Stephan, Johnny Padilla and Keith Polvermucker.

Tony'ís love for music and eclectic experiences gave rise to his first original salsa band and whammy award winner - Nabori - with whom he also produced music and recorded. Moreover, he continued to develop as an artist with the creation of his second original salsa project with a focus on what is known as urban salsa, where he also produced music and directed the band named D'íCalleSon. Currently, he is an active member of The Carlos Adames Group.

Tony continues to grow as an artist by sharing his love for music through teaching at Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, La Causa Charter School, MPS. His students have performed under his guidance in many local venues including Milwaukee Performing Art Center PAC, and other public events within the city.

Tony Ayala is well respected and known in the music circuit as highly qualified, driven, creative, and above all a seasoned performer who gives himself 110% to his craft…MUSIC.
