Curtis Rodriguez, Marc Anthony

Curtis was born in Bronx, New York and at the age of 6 his parents moved the entire family to Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. At very early age he took a keen interest in the island's tropical music, predominantly "salsa" and it's rhythmic percussion sounds. He played bongos, congas and timbales in many local bands and with artists such as Rafy Diaz. His first professional gig was in 1977 with Cheo Feliciano and Santos Colon Bands. In 1990 Curtis became a member of the Jerry Rivera Band and in 1991 he joined the Cuco Valoy Band.

In 1992, Curtis moved to Jersey City, New Jersey and shortly after he became a member of the Marc Anthony Band. He has been the bongo player for Marc ever since. In the year 2000 he performed with Marc Anthony in the HBO Special at Madison Square Garden, in 2007 and again in 2011 he played in the American Idol Finale with Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. In 2009 he performed at the Latino Inaugural Gala as well as Fiesta Latina at the White House for President Barack Obama. In 2012 he performed with Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez at the finale of Q'Viva: the chosen, and in Vina del Mar in 2009, 2012, and 2019.

Through his many years as a member of the MA Band, Curtis has performed in many TV and Awards shows including the Today Show, Billboard Awards, Grammys, American Music Awards, Latin Grammys, Premios lo Nuestro, and Premios Juventud. Curtis has performed in every single Marc Anthony Tour since 2000.
