Andre Carpio, Hey Hey Camaguey

Andre Carpio is a percussionist known musically as "The Squirrel". He was born on November 20, 1992, with a gift in percussion and a passion for music. Carpio had his musical beginnings at just 11 years old and managed to attract attention not long after, participating in several prestigious national orchestras. At age 14 he made his first artistic accompaniment with Hildemaro and has played throughout the ensuing years with the likes of Viti Ruiz, the Moreno brothers, Jos√© "el canario" Alberto, Roberto Blades, Ray Sepulveda, Jhonny Rivera, Cano Estremera, Willie Gonzales, Tony vega, Eddie Santiago, Renzo Padilla, and Irving Manuel among others. Later he joined the ANTONIO CARTAGENA Orchestra, touring internationally in Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Europe and the United States. He has also recorded with Josimar and his Yambu, Son Temptation, The Novel, Hey Hey Camaguey, Jonathan Moly, Vernis Hernandez and Irving Manuel. He is currently working as a performer on timbales with the Orchestra of the Crowds, Hey Hey Camaguey.
